Synopsis by Mark Deming

A man comes face to face with his failings as a father and a businessman as he struggles to make things right in this Israeli drama. Yaakov Fidelman (Sasso Gabay) makes his living restoring antique furniture, running a shop with his business partner Max Malamud. Yaakov is the one with the know-how in the workshop, while Max has a keen businesses sense and the ability to charm customers, through Yaakov finds Max's skill as a businessman wasn't all it was cracked up to be when he dies unexpectedly and Yaakov learns for the first time the shop in deep in debt. Yaakov now has to find a way to turn the business around and take on the responsibilities that Max used to handle, and he has to do this without the help of his son Noah (Nevo Kimchi), who looked up to Max as a mentor and wants to sell the shop before it's too late, over his dad's protests. Yaakov takes on a new apprentice to help with the work, Anton (Henry David), and the young man discovers a hidden goldmine in the shop: an 1882 Steinway grand piano that, with a new soundboard, could be worth a small fortune. But while Yaakov and Anton quickly strike up a close friendship, Yaakov isn't so sure he approves of his apprentice's obvious infatuation with Noah's very pregnant wife Hava (Sarah Adler). Boker Tov Adon Fidelman (aka Restoration) was written and directed by Yossi Madmony; his script won the World Cinema Screenwriting Award at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival.
