Set in a Kurdish village close to the border that separates Iran from Iraq, Jamil Rostami's Requiem of Snow stars Shadi Veryani as Rojan, a teenager madly in love with her fiancé Jian (Masoud Yousefi. Jian is away for an extended period, during which Rojan's father arranges for her to marry a wealthy older man. Distraught by this turn of events, she runs off with Saeed (Jalil Mohammad Veissi), a traveling salesman who promises to take her to the city where Jian is living. However, Saeed's reasons for suggesting the trip turn out to be far from selfless.
