Momosuke is a watcher, not a doer. He travels Japan collecting the interesting or strange stories of everyone he meets, hoping to collect 100 and publish them in a book. He has a passive, observatory role until the day he meets three intriguing characters. Mataichi of Deception, Ogin of the Puppets, and Chouji of the Bird Calling may seem at first like just a bunch of small-time crooks but in reality, they are more cunning and perceptive than meets the eye. Hired to solve the most impossibly baffling cases, they are masters of character and behavior. Now, Momosuke's role as the passive observer is over as he dives into a world of action and adventure.
