Synopsis by Jason Buchanan
A recovered heroin addict returns to his Florida hometown, where his attempt to enter the family fishing business is thwarted by his unpredictable brother, who has recently lost their late father's boat after incurring a sizable debt from a dangerous local drug dealer. Alex was serving time for grand theft auto when his father passed away suddenly. Later returning to his home town to find the economy in shambles due to a rampant toxic algae bloom, he plans to earn a living with his father's fishing boat when he learns that his pill-popping, criminally-inclined older brother John is deeply in debt to his nefarious boss. Determined to get the boat back, Alex reluctantly goes to work for the notorious criminal kingpin, only find himself running in circles, and no closer to accomplishing his goal. When John hatches a plan to kill his boss and recover the boat, Alex fears that his brother has finally made a break from reality, and forces him to quit kick drugs cold turkey. Later, once John has cleaned up, Alex realizes that the worst is still yet to come.
