In the 1960s, when America was rediscovering its musical roots through a new interest in folk music, legendary musician and author Pete Seeger hosted a public television series called Rainbow Quest, in which he featured a number of great American artists as they played their songs and discussed their life and their work. In this episode, Appalachian banjo picker Roscoe Holcomb plays the songs of Kentucky mountains with the help of singer and guitarist Jean Redpath.
