Synopsis by Mark Deming

One of the biggest British rock groups of the '70s and '80s, Queen merged hard rock sound and glam rock style, and added the powerful voice of Freddie Mercury to create a sound that captured the ears of music fans around the world. Queen: Champions of the World is a feature-length documentary on the band's career (created with the participation of the surviving members), featuring rare footage of the group Smile (which featured Brian May and Roger Taylor before they formed Queen), interviews with all four members of Queen, music videos, concert footage, and highlights from the 1992 Freddie Mercury memorial concert at London's Wembley Stadium.
