Synopsis by Sean Hurley
John Cohen's film Qeros: The Shape of Survival documents the way of life of the Qeros Indians, a people whose way of life predates the Incas. Surviving at the foot of the Andean Mountains in Peru, where the mountain snow meets the mist rising off the jungles below, the Qeros maintain a life of simplicity and devotion. Offerings of burnt cocoa leaves rise to the spirits who reside high above in the mountain peaks, while the soothing sound of flutes resound as the Qeros maintain their flocks of alpacas and llamas.
