Pyramids, Mummies and Tombs (2002)

Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Hosted by archaeologist Dr. Bob Brier, this three-episode cable TV documentary series emphasized the mystery and intrigue attending the creation of the world's ancient monuments to the deceased. Although Dr. Brier's field of expertise was Egypt, the series also gave plenty of coverage to the final resting places of the rich and prominent in China and Mexico. Accompanied by a delightfully lurid ad campaign ("Sometimes the pyramids were a matter of. . .mur-der!"), Pyramids, Mummies and Tombs premiered July 7, 2002, over The Learning Channel.
