When an expensive machine breaks down at a textile factory, accountant Frolian Perez (Jesus Ortega) solves the problem. He is declared a local hero by the television media when his efforts save the company a small fortune. Despite his heroics, Frolian's parsimonious boss (Enrique Heine) refuses to grant his prize employee a raise. Frolian, who is saddled with the responsibility of supporting his parents and younger brothers, reverts to a fantasy would to relieve his stress in this symbolic struggle of a dedicated worker who is unappreciated by his employer.
