Synopsis by Janiss Garza
Although the Plump and Runt series had ended a couple months before, this Vim one-reel comedy starring Oliver Hardy and Billy Ruge was a Plump and Runt film in everything but name. Here, Hardy is named Babe (which is what he was called in his private life) and, instead of Runt, Ruge is called by his regular first name, Billy. The pair are chicken thieves who have just finished serving jail time and want to reform. They find work at a brewery as inspectors, but are fired when they sample too much of the product. By now the two are hungry and getting desperate, so when they see that there is a masquerade ball going on at Lady Kate's (Kate Price), they steal into the house and take what they can. But they're caught by Kate who believes they are guests and gives them the prize for best costume. A conscience-stricken Babe makes Billy gave back all they've stolen, and they take off.
