Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Western star Bob Livingston inherits Eddie Dew's "John Paul Revere" character and Gene Autry's perennial sidekick Smiley Burnette in Republic's Pride of the Plains. Livingston is cast as Johnny Revere, while Burnette reprises his tried-and-true "Frog Millhouse" screen persona. Johnny and Frog take on a bad guy (Kenneth MacDonald) who intends to raid a government-protected herd of wild horses for his own financial gain. Though the villain manages to put several crooked lawmen and politicians in his pocket, he's no match for Our Heroes. Nothing special, Pride of the Plains is elevated by its breathless action highlights.
