Now considered one of the best of the Romantic artists, Delacroix traveled in elite circles. His lifestyle was documented in his journal which grew increasingly popular over time. As well as being a social butterfly, Delacroix was an influential Impressionist. His signature use of a rich palette created a unique emotional landscape. Above all, Delacroix sought to move people through his work.
