Synopsis by Janiss Garza

When small town boy Johnny Carroll (Johnnie Walker) heads out for the big city, he finds himself on the wrong side of the law as one of a gang of crooks. But when he runs into Judge Kerrigan from back home (Wilbur Higby) and hears how much his mother (Nanine Wright) misses him, he decides to give up his thieving ways. He goes home, becomes a clerk in a grocery store, and renews his romance with his childhood sweetheart, Betty Bedford (Edna Murphy). But his associates from the city show up and force him into helping them rob the grocer's safe by threatening to expose his past. Johnny opens the safe for them, but changes his mind and begins to fight them. His boss (Harry Todd) walks in on the battle and believes that Johnny has captured the robbers. He appears to be a hero, but then McQuade (Al Fremont), a detective from the city, arrives. He had been on Johnny's trail, but he realizes that the boy has gone straight, so he leaves him alone.
