Synopsis by Hans J. Wollstein

Stalwart silent Western star Jack Hoxie played a sheriff chasing the brother of his fiancée in this typical Universal oater directed by genre specialist Robert N. Bradbury. Admired for stealing from the ruthless Williams Lumber Company, "The Hawk" is revealed to be Dorothy Mason's (Lillian Rich) younger brother, Fred (Neil McKinnon). The revelation proves to be a bit of a sticky wicket for Dorothy's sweetheart, Bob Winton (Hoxie), who as sheriff is obliged to arrest the kid. He hides Fred instead and goes to war with the lumber company, which has a mortgage on the Mason ranch. Soon the sheriff is accused of killing a guard at the lumber company, but Fred confesses to the deed before committing suicide. With Dorothy's help, Bob manages to save the Mason ranch from the vengeful lumber company owner (Wade Boteler).
