Synopsis by Jason Buchanan
Screenwriter/director Nobuhiko Hosaka adapts author Haruhito Kou's pensive novel detailing an elderly Japanese couple's struggle to maintain their longtime marriage despite the troubling onset of Alzheimer's disease. Osamu Takayama (Harudanji Katsura) is a self-absorbed writer who has recently noticed that Yoshiko (Izumi Yukimura), his wife of fifty years, is behaving very strangely. Later, as Yushiko descends to far into dementia that she becomes unable to recognize her longtime companion, Osamu does his best to comfort the confused woman.
