This video is one of a series that examines performance practices from the Baroque period through the present day. Music historian Dr. Maurice Rinson and keyboard professor Stewart Gordon are the guides on this musical excursion. They also include the influences of art, architecture, and literature on the music of the day. In this episode, the video looks at the music performed between 1890 and 1914. The works of a number of artists are discussed. These include the universally recognized Bartok, Debussy, Satie, and Arnold Schoenberg. The works of Sol Berkowitz, Richard Faith, and Bruce Wise are also examined.
