Synopsis by Karen Solomon
Follow the rise of the Nazi movement and how Adolf Hitler came to power. Listen to interviews and eyewitness accounts from those that were persecuted under the Nazi regime, and hear them retell the misfortune and persecution of being black, Jewish, Gypsy, or homosexual in Germany from the 1930s onward. But on the flip side, for those that weren't part of the Final Solution but were instead elated to be part of Germany's chosen people, living under Hitler's regime was a wonderful, joyous, high-spirited time. They, too, retell what day-to-day life was like living under the seduction of nationalism taken to the extreme. From WGBH Boston and the BBC comes this detailed video series on the struggle for human rights. Narrator Alfre Woodard gives voice to this educational and historical volume.
