The popular heavy metal "shred guitarist" Paul Gilbert (of Mr. Big, Racer X and G3 fame) headlines the music release Paul Gilbert: Get Out of My Yard. The primary thrust of the program is instructional: Gilbert demonstrates his highly individualistic technique on such tunes as "Rusty Old Boat," "Full Tank" and "The Curse of Castle Dragon," explaining to viewers in a clear-cut, step-by-step manner how to perform specific notes, chords and scales; in a few instances, Gilbert eschews instruction altogether and expostulates on the inspiration behind particular songs. The program then segues into live concert footage of Gilbert, first on a solo during the 'Racer X Superheroes Japan Tour,' then on four songs performed at the MI in Hollywood, California. Other musicians who appear in this release include John Petrucci and Joe Satriani, both of G3.
