Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka
Pope John Paul II and singer Michael Jackson were actually scheduled to appear the same day at Olympic Stadium in Toronto in 1984. They did, but at different times of course. (Too bad, that would have made a unique documentary.) The police did double-duty trying to protect both men from the crowds or worse. In the meantime, this docu has no footage of Michael in concert but ample footage of demonstrations against the Pope's visit, transvestites making a travesty of the Pontiff's procession, and gays being just demonstrative out on the streets.
