Synopsis by Alice Duncan
In one of the most remote and awe-inspiring corners in the world, the Himalayan mountain range, daring kayakers undertake a perilous and exhilarating white-water journey through the drastic gorges of the upper Karnali River. Shots of the fiercely flowing current, terrifying chutes between tremendous boulders, and nonstop rapids -- where even the slightest mishap could be fatal -- evoke the title, Liquid Off the Throne of Shiva (since, in Hindu tradition, Shiva is the "Destroyer" aspect of the deity). This documentary was written, filmed, and directed by world-class kayaker Scott Lindgren, and presented by Outside Magazine.
