Our Future Generation is a 26-part series featuring young people from diverse backgrounds who share their hopes, dreams, and everyday concerns. Topics touch on a multitude of issues ranging from pregnancy to prayer in the classroom. The series is written by teens with the aim of helping young people to understand their commonality. Our Future Generation: Kids Rising Above Their Disabilities highlights real kids who are coping with handicaps. Meet seven-year-old Michael. Born with arthrogryposis, Michael is wheelchair-bound and unable to use his arms or legs. The second grader created a greeting card and convinced his school to sell copies in a fundraising effort. Profits from Michael's project funded the construction of a handicapped playground.
