In late 1925, minor cowboy star Pete Morrison replaced Jack Hoxie at Universal, and appeared in the studio's "Blue Streak" Westerns (basically low-budget oaters). Morrison plays Jim Wesley, a Westerner who goes East to college and returns looking and acting like a dandy. He becomes the object of ridicule amongst all the other cowboys. There's a dispute with a neighboring ranch over water rights, and Jim's dad (James Welsh) hopes to smooth things over by having his son marry the daughter of the other rancher, Adams Grayson (J.P. Lockney). Neither Jim nor the girl Marguerite (Dolores Gardner) is pleased with this since they have never met each other. The rest of the film is easily guessed -- Jim saves Marguerite from an attack, and she in turn helps him when the same bad guy knocks him out. They fall in love without knowing each other's names, but in the midst of a big battle between the two ranches, they figure it out, resulting in romance and peace all around.
