Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka

Tetsuro Tomishima (Hiroyuki Watanabe) is a motorcycle policeman who accidentally knocks down a woman on her bike (Kumi Fujishima) while he is chasing a drunk driver. Although the policeman has to continue his pursuit of the drunk, his mind is on the woman who was injured. When he is back at the police station he is assured that she is okay, and it takes him a little while to find out that she now has a disabled leg, and can no longer work in her profession (as a model). Remorseful and determined to apologize, and do what he can to make up for the crippling accident, Tetsuro takes off in search of the young woman, who by now is on her way to the distant town of Kagoshima, far away from Tokyo. When he does catch up to her, his apologies fall on deaf ears, and he is forced to leave without assuaging his conscience. Meanwhile, his fellow police officers are after him to get him back to the police station (he is a runaway of sorts). So Tetsuro has a race against time on his hands, he must try again to make his sincere regrets known before his buddies get him and the woman is out of his reach.
