Synopsis by Augustine Chay
Director Ric Burns’ documentary examines the life and legacy of the late British-born neurologist and author Oliver Sacks. Drawing from archival footage and a series of lengthy interviews with Sacks in 2015 (after his fatal cancer diagnosis), it explores Sacks’ pioneering case studies of his psychiatric and neurological patients – and his personal struggles with homophobia and an amphetamine addiction.
