Since the dawn of the 20th century, the Dallas-based Red River Shootout, an annual football championship between two bitter competitors, the University of Oklahoma Sooners and the University of Texas Longhorns - has captivated fans of the sport. The two teams vie for the much-revered Golden Hat, a ten-gallon hat made entirely of gold. 2005 marked the 100th championship. To commemorate this event, the home video release Oklahoma vs. Texas: 100 Years of the Red Rivalry caters to fans by compiling the most astounding footage and unforgettable moments from the history of the Shootout into a single release.
