Synopsis by Alice Day

Health care personnel must take proper precautions when dealing with patients who are HIV-positive. In Of Critical Importance -- AIDS Precautions in Radiology, the possible dangers for radiologists are discussed, and protective measures are shown. While it is emphasized that the risk for contagion is low, the prudence of protection should not be dismissed. These precautions are issued by the Center for Disease Control, and offer information on using gloves, goggles, and masks when performing a variety of procedures. Medical staff are expected to treat blood and other bodily fluids as if they were contaminated.
