Synopsis by Sarah Ing
Hardware is featured as a burgeoning art gallery in this third installment of Computer Animation Festival. Twenty international shorts make up this collection, ranging from cartoonish talking heads to claymation. The works vary in complexity and budget. "Let There Be Light" showcases the music video genre, compliments of Mike Oldfield. "Still Life" is classic animation with everyday objects coming to life. "Wordplay" and "Mercury" both display the computer art being used for commercial purposes. The Computer Animation Festival lets the technology speak for itself, while offering the audience a glimpse at the future.
