Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
Tanai plays a lone Polynesian with a vision of peace and solitude. He sets out in his canoe armed with only his seamanship and a breadfruit sapling, which he intends to plant when he finds the uninhabited island of his dreams. Along the way, he encounters powerful ocean storms, savage tribes on remote islands, and a displaced European. This Italian feature film, directed by documentary filmmaker Folco Quilici, boasts some excellent South Sea island and ocean photography.
