A teenage girl contends with a grim medical diagnosis by casting caution to the wind, and living her few remaining days to their absolute fullest in this poignant adaptation of author Jenny Downham's bestselling novel Before I Die. Upon learning she is suffering from a terminal illness, 17-year-old Tessa (Dakota Fanning) begins compiling a list of everything she wants to experience before her time runs up. Before long, Tessa and her best friend are checking items off the list in a whirlwind of excitement. Meanwhile, Tessa's mother, father, and brother are forced to face the fear of losing a family member who has enriched their lives in more ways than they could ever express in words. But just when Tessa start to think she's accomplished everything she's wanted to in life, a handsome boy named Adam (Jeremy Irvine) moves into the house next door, and shows her what it's like to full completely and madly in love.
