Synopsis by Sarah Ing
Nova goes to the heart of seismic technology with Nova: Predictable Disaster. Earthquakes have long been considered as unpredictable as they are dangerous. But, modern scientists are beginning to offer techniques by which disaster can be averted. Nova is at the scene when a prediction is being offered and explores the dynamics of the plate tectonics theory. When danger is forewarned, the prediction can cause as much havoc as the event itself. This program explains the advantages and drawbacks for such burgeoning advances.
