Synopsis by Sarah Ing
Nature thinks ahead. That is the theory behind Nova's presentation of The Shape of Things. Using wondrous photomicroscopy and computer animation, the PBS program explains the reasons behind biology's structure. Why are eggs round and honeycombs octagonal? According to scientists, these shapes are vital and reoccurring. Time-lapse photography allows the viewer to witness the evolution of form. After viewing this ode to geometry, it will be hard to take a crystal for granted again.
