When a young man from North Vietnam joins the South Vietnamese Army, he is disowned by his family in this wartime drama. His sister is captured by American soldiers and subjected to torture. She refuses to divulge the information, so the soldiers set fire to the gauze that ties her hands together. The death of the girl and the film are clearly indictments of American activity in the Vietnam War.
