Synopsis by Janiss Garza
Comedian Charley Chase takes a surprisingly sentimental turn in this two-reeler. Although he makes little money, milkman Chase is an honest, sincere family man. Unfortunately, he has the mother-in-law from hell (played by Josephine Crowell, who always made a funny and frightening ma-in-law). Her tyrannical behavior drives him from home, but he plans to kidnap his young son (Mickey Bennett), who is more than willing to be snatched away. The mother-in-law hires a detective to keep an eye on the boy, but the father manages to get to him anyhow. Father and son head for the beach for a swim, but the waves wash away the father's bathing suit. The son goes in search of a new bathing suit for his dad, and the detective finds him. Eventually, the father is able to locate a barrel and he gets the mother-in-law arrested. Now that she's out of the way, he can reunite with his wife (Katherine Grant) and his son. Aquatic star Duke Kahanamoku shows off his technique in a cameo role.
