A twenty-five year old German soldier returns home to his family and girlfriend after an extended tour of duty in Afghanistan, tough it doesn't take long for his loved-ones to realize his psyche has been permanently fractured by the trauma experienced on the battlefield. David has returned to his home in the Black Forest, and his family couldn't be happier to see him. Their joy is decidedly short-lived, however, when they realize that his substantial psychic wounds run far deeper than any of his physical wounds. While everyone does their best to carry on as if all is normal, David's loved ones are ultimately forced to face the fact something is seriously wrong after playful sessions between the ex-soldier and his eight year-old half brother turn suddenly violent.
