Synopsis by Elizabeth Smith
Getting tackled by a heavy-set NFL player would seem to be among the worst experiences a football player might dread. Yet back in 1967, the Dallas Cowboys and the Green Bay Packers made history by managing to play an entire NFL game in sub-zero weather. Nicknamed "The Ice Bowl," the players in this game woke up that day to hear that it was after 7 a.m. and 19 degrees below zero. During a recent NFL poll, fans were asked to cast their votes for the "most memorable game of the century." This 1967 game won the top spot. After enduring a level of discomfort few others can imagine, these two teams ended their game with the Packers beating the Cowboys 21-17.
