This very slight farce comedy shared a reel with the more action-packed Green Alarm. Oliver Hardy, whose star was quickly rising at Lubin, plays a heavy, literally and figuratively. Bill (James Levering) and Jim (J.A. Murphy, who also directed) are a pair of old men who are feeling their oats. Bill longs for a little romance, so he answers an ad from a "young widow" who is seeking a wealthy old man for marriage. He goes over to the apartment of the young lady (Marguerite NeMoyer), and she manages to get him to fork over all his money so she can "buy an engagement ring." But of course, she's no widow, and her husband (Hardy) comes storming into the room and chases Bill off. As a result, Bill learns a hard lesson. Surprisingly, the woman feels a pang of guilt, and she returns Bill's money, suggesting that he use it to buy a tombstone.
