Synopsis by Olivia Cantor
Documentary filmmaker Daniel Roher features the events surrounding the poisoning attempt involving Alexei Navalny, the known Russian opposition leader considered to be Vladimir Putin’s most vocal critic. In 2020, it was found out that the Russian-made Novichok nerve gas agent was used to poison Navalny as he boarded a flight to Moscow from Tomsk. He was put into a coma to hopefully save his life, which it did. Upon his recovery, the anti-corruption activist blamed Putin for this whole episode in his life, speaking candidly about these thoughts in the film.
