Synopsis by Alice Day
The elements that determine one individual's perfect garden may not be found in another's, as Nature Perfected, The Story of the Garden: Paradise on Earth indicates. The emperor of Japan's private park is based on Japanese ideals of beauty, utilizing Asian traditions of serenity and harmony, while Monet's garden, complete with water lily pond, was his paradise. A simple patch of corn on a mountain in Mexico can be beautiful in the eyes of its owner. The program offers the vistas and other scenic wonders available at Yosemite, not as a planned site, but an example of nature at its finest.
