This National Geographic documentary explores the causes and effects of the tsunami. Through animated graphics and actual footage, the viewer is shown how a tidal wave forms, how fast and far it can move across the globe and what damage can be caused when such a wave hits shore. Also investigated are the early warning detection methods and safety standards that are being used to help people survive these unpredictable events.
