Avalanches in all their fury are portrayed and explained in this National Geographic presentation. The camera follows human stories, explains surprising science, and tells the history of some of the world's worst avalanches. The video includes dramatic footage of this fierce force of nature and firsthand accounts of people buried alive who miraculously survived. Viewers fly with the experts who drop explosives on snow-laden mountains to observe and understand the avalanche processes at work, as well as relive some of history's worst avalanches, including the Washington State disaster in which 96 people were crushed beyond recognition.
