Synopsis by Ed Atkinson

Brutal in its portrayal of nature giveth and nature taketh away, this National Geographic documentary examines the slow disappearance of the Savuti Channel, a small river in the wilderness of Botswana. The film was shot over a seven-year period, capturing the slow and painful struggle of the wildlife that had come to depend on the channel for survival. The camera captures the desperate actions of hippo, elephants, zebras and other animals as they deal with the shrinking habitat. National Geographic: Africa's Stolen River shows both the horror and beauty of nature with stunning photography and strong scientific fact and reasoning.
