Sasha Valenti's debut feature Nakombiu kycoyek (Tasty Bits) is set in Russia and stars Julia Muranova as Julia, a music lover who is employed as a jazz disc jockey at a local radio station, which is about to be acquired by a large company. Not happy with the prospect of either being fired or given a corporate playlist, Julia plans to disrupt the takeover. When her plans are found out, she becomes a potential victim of the Russian mafia. Luckily, her lover Tanya (Tatiana Alyokhina) figures out how Julia can extricate herself from the mess she has created. Tasty Bits was screened at the 2003 San Francisco Lesbian and Gay Festival.
