In this episode of Mystic Lands, the traditions and beliefs of the Hindu in India are examined, with emphasis on the city of Varanasi. It is located near the banks of the Ganges River, regarded as sacred by the Hindus, and millions make a holy pilgrimage to Varanasi, which has over a thousand temples. Mystic Lands: Varanasi -- City of Light visits the Golden Temple and the Durgan Temple. The sacred ghats, or stone steps, that descend to the river are featured, as are the sites of cremation, where the ashes of millions of Hindus are scattered in the Ganges.
