Synopsis by Alice Day

The area in which the Incas lived was subject to natural catastrophes such as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and severe weather. They believed that the gods controlled these events, and made sacrifices to appease them. The sacred valley of the Incas contains many ruins from their remarkable civilization, much of it high atop mountains. Mystic Lands: Peru -- Kingdom in the Clouds takes a good look at the terraced stonework of Machu Picchu, the remains of Ollantaytambo, Pisac, and Cuzco, capital of the Inca culture. Edward James Olmos is narrator for the series.
