Synopsis by Nathan Southern
This unique classical release intercuts several different, loosely-related strands. In one, the opera singer Barbara Hendricks reflects on her prestigious, multi-decade career as a classical vocalist. In another, the film takes us behind-the-scenes of a 1990 production of Donizetti's comic opera Don Pasquale, which co-starred Barbara Hendricks as Norina and Gabriel Bacquier as Pasquale. Finally, in a third strand, the film leads viewers on an armchair tour of the Aix-la-Provence Festival in Southern France, where the production is set.
