Synopsis by Forrest Spencer
Antarctica is the fifth largest continent on the Earth, covering some 14-million square miles, and two regions, the West Antarctica peninsula and the East Antarctica continental shield, are joined into a single mass of ice cap that is nearly 13,000 feet thick and covers more than 95% of Antarctica. Some 1000 people live in the cold, harsh wilderness during the winter months, and some 4000 people during the summer. This vast wasteland was first explored in 1911 and protected under several international treaties. This video follows the adventures, experiences of four individuals as they drive forth to probe and discover the unforgiving and untamed lands, rivers and wildlife of Antarctica. It is a video that captures the spirit of adventure and the determination of humans to explore the seldom seen recesses and regions of the world.
