Synopsis by Hans J. Wollstein
A typically sensationalistic Danish silent melodrama, Mumiens Halsbånd, or as it was re-titled for distribution overseas, The Fatal Necklace, tells the well-known story of an ancient curse stalking a group of archaeologists. Ingeborg Spangsfeld is the proud owner of an Egyptian necklace dating back to the Pharaohs. She is stalked by the Egyptian butler (Kai Lind) of scion Sir Robin Grey (Valdemar Psilander) and when she refuses to depart with the jewel, he kidnaps her for ransom. As usual, the Great Northern Company used Upper Class England as the setting for this melodrama, whose Egyptian scenes were filmed on location among the sand dunes of Denmark's Atlantic coast.
