Amelie is 13, a big city giant and possibly the most stubborn girl in all of Berlin. Amelie does not let anyone say anything, especially not her parents, who after a life-threatening asthma attack they are sent to a special clinic in South Tyrol. Exactly what Amelie does not want. Instead of being helpful, she complains.
She escapes to where she guesses no one will suspect: uphill. In the middle of the Alps she meets a mysterious 15-year-old with the strange name Bart. When the uninvited companion rescues her life, Amelie finds that Bart is much more interesting than initially thought. Together, the two go on an adventurous journey, which is about hopeful wonders and real friendship.
