Synopsis by Jason Buchanan
Co-director/screenwriters Aaron Condon and Mike Cruz collaborate with screenwriter Tara Condon to craft this teenage romance highlighting the cultural divide between Marshall Island natives, and the Chinese immigrants who have moved to the Pacific island republic in hopes of starting life anew. A community project spearheaded by the two directors (American volunteer teachers in the region), the film follows high school senior Leban (James Bing III) as he develops in innocent crush on fellow student Mei-Lin (Lin Ting-yu) - the daughter of a local shopkeeper. When the couple makes the bold decision to attend a school dance together, Leban's friends retaliate by condemning the relationship outright, and trashing the Mei-Lin's shop.
