This video is part of a series that profiles the lives and works of some of the world's great modern literary figures. This program features a look at the poet T.S. Eliot. Born in St. Louis, MO, in 1888, Eliot studied at Harvard, and ultimately became a British citizen. In poems such as "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock" and "The Waste Land", Eliot expressed the sense of bewilderment and futility of life in the post-World War era. He won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1948.
